TV Bed Ltd evolved from Mayflower Designs - a company formed in 1995 to manufacture metal furniture.  With the fashion for such furniture declining in the 1990's it was left for MD Mike Munden to find a new market.

In 2002, Mike designed and patented the first bed incorporating a flat screen TV in its base.  The response to this bed was encouraging but limited by its near GBP £15,000 retail price. 

With his patent granted in 2007, Mike was approached by several interested parties who were willing to purchase his company, patent rights, or both.  Mike settled on an investment from a company in November 2007 which allowed him to increase production, source from worldwide suppliers and decrease price whilst improving quality; a rare achievement.

In July 2008 the New York TV Bed was relaunched in the UK.  Finished in full leather with a retail guide price of GBP £3,000.  It was an instant success!

By 2009 the Design Registration for the unique lifting mechanism was granted worldwide allowing the TV Bed to be launched worldwide.

In May 2009 a worldwide patent was applied for, covering our unique side switches and child lock facility.
